âBig Tech Goes All-In on AI With $700B+ Spending Surgeâ đ¨đ¨đ¨
Alphabet Inc., Amazon, Microsoft, and Meta are ramping up capital spending to unprecedented levels, with combined 2026 capex set to exceed $700 billion.
Spending plans continue to climb as the AI race intensifies. Alphabet raised its outlook to $180â$190 billion, while Meta boosted its forecast to $125â$145 billion. Microsoft is targeting around $190 billion this yearâroughly $55 billion above analyst expectations. Amazon remains the largest spender, holding steady at an estimated $200 billion.
Altogether, these tech giants are nearly doubling last yearâs spending and adding about $100 billion more than previously projected just last quarter. The surge reflects an aggressive push to build out data centers, chips, and infrastructure needed to power the next wave of AI innovation.
As competition heats up, Big Tech is making it clear: the future of AI will be built on massive, capital-intensive infrastructureâand theyâre willing to spend whatever it takes to lead.
