āSolana Partners With WSOP to Bring Crypto Payments to Poker Tournamentsā šØšØšØ
Solana is moving deeper into mainstream adoption through a new partnership with the World Series of Poker, marking a major step in integrating blockchain payments into competitive gaming.
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) announced it will incorporate Solanaās blockchain infrastructure into its events through payments firm MoonPay, allowing players to buy into tournaments using crypto for the first time.
At upcoming WSOP events, participants will be able to use crypto directly for entries, while winners at the Bahamas tournament in December will also have the option to receive payouts in stablecoins on the Solana network. The move aims to streamline international settlements and reduce friction in cross-border payouts.
WSOP CEO Ty Stewart said Solanaās speed and efficiency align with the fast-paced nature of poker tournaments, highlighting the focus on improving the overall player experience.
Despite the partnership news, Solanaās price has remained under pressure, slipping modestly on the day and falling more than 48% year-to-date in 2026, according to market data.
The blockchain has remained highly active in recent years, driven largely by meme coin trading and retail speculation, alongside growing institutional experimentation across payments and gaming applications.
