50 Cent’s new film and TV studio is official.

In November 2023, AFROTECH shared that the businessman was in the process of locking down on using Millennium Movie Studio in Shreveport, LA, for his G-Unit Film & Television Louisiana, LLC.

The purpose was said “to operate a production studio and/or activities and uses related to the promotion or development of the film, sound, light, movie, television, broadcasting, recording, and arts industries.”

On Dec. 13, 50 Cent announced that G-Unit Studios has officially received the green light in Shreveport, LA.

In an Instagram post, the “BMF” executive producer described the milestone as historic being that “a Republican mayor’s office and a democratic majority city council have never voted unanimously together on anything.”

The approved lease will be for 30 years with an option to renew for an additional 15 years.

50 Cent also shared that he has plans on the studio serving as a conduit for more creatives and locals to have access to opportunities.

“I am excited to get started on building a state-of-the-art production facility,” 50 Cent shared in a statement while thanking the Shreveport City Council.

50 Cent sees the G-Unit studio as representation for the future of Shreveport and what talent the city has to offer. 

He continued, “Founding my own studio is the next step in my plan to expand G-Unit Film & Television’s output of premium, diverse content across all media and to provide more opportunities for artists, crew members and more jobs within the community.”
