âGoogle Soars as Gemini 3 Launch Sparks Investor Optimismâ đ¨đ¨đ¨
Google GOOGL $294.02 (+3.43%) is rallying sharply todayâon pace for its third-largest daily gain of the yearâafter unveiling Gemini 3, the newest version of its flagship AI model released Tuesday. Early reactions across the tech and AI community have been overwhelmingly positive, fueling renewed confidence in Googleâs AI roadmap.
The update delivers major leaps in reasoning, agentic task performance, and its increasingly popular âvibe codingâ capabilities. Gemini 3 is already dominating the LMArena leaderboards, claiming top spots in text generation, web development, and vision tasksâcompetitive categories that typically attract intense scrutiny from developers and AI researchers.
Momentum is also building on the consumer side. Gemini has climbed to No. 2 on Appleâs free App Store, trailing only ChatGPT. That rise reflects a broader industry shift: AI chatbots are increasingly being viewed as viable alternatives to traditional web searchâa multi-billion-dollar market that Google has controlled for decades.
But Geminiâs importance goes far beyond chat. Google is integrating its AI models across its entire product ecosystem, relying on them to fuel Cloud growth, enhance productivity tools, and fortify its longstanding dominance in ads and search. Strong early reception for Gemini 3 signals that Google may be closing competitive gaps while expanding new revenue opportunities.
Shares of Google jumped as much as 5.6%, aided by a broader rally in tech stocks.
The AI momentum adds to an impressive run for Google in recent months. The company smashed expectations with its Q3 revenue and earnings, saw its stock jump after Berkshire Hathaway disclosed a $5.1 billion stake, and committed $40 billion toward new Texas data centers.
The result: Google is the top-performing Magnificent 7 stock of 2025, surging nearly 60% year-to-date. For comparison, Nvidia is up 39%, and Microsoft trails at 17%.
With Gemini 3 now live and outperforming, investors appear confident that Google isnât just defending its territoryâitâs regaining momentum in the AI race.
