Killer Mike and T.I. Receive A $1.2M Loan To Open Bankhead Seafood Restaurant In 2024

Killer Mike and T.I. are poised to receive a substantial investment in support of their restaurant endeavor. Greenwood, a bank dedicated to the Black and Latinx community, in collaboration with Georgia Banking Co. (GBC), has declared a $1.2 million loan designated for the revitalization of Bankhead Seafood Restaurant.
Following its closure in 2018, the historic Atlanta, GA, restaurant is set to reopen under the ownership of T.I. and Killer Mike, who now possess the business, name, and trademark. The duo plans to reintroduce the restaurant's classic menu items. T.I. expressed enthusiasm about the investment, stating, "Today’s investment serves as a profound testament to the broader vision we’ve cultivated at Bankhead Seafood." He emphasized the excitement of partnering with Greenwood, whose commitment aligns with their ethos, contributing to the community's legacy of mutual prosperity and support.
Ryan Glover, chairman and CEO of Greenwood, conveyed pride in supporting Bankhead Seafood, emphasizing its alignment with Greenwood's mission. He highlighted his longstanding relationship with T.I. and Killer Mike and pledged ongoing support for innovative Black-owned businesses.
With the $1.2 million infusion, the funds will facilitate the expansion of Bankhead Seafood Restaurant in Atlanta, creating employment opportunities for locals. The restaurant is anticipated to open its doors in the second quarter of 2024.
Killer Mike expressed gratitude for the transformative milestone, thanking Greenwood and GBC for providing the necessary resources to kickstart Bankhead's future. He commended the partnership for exemplifying the crucial role of Black entrepreneurial collaboration in economic empowerment and unity within the Southwest Atlanta community.
